items did load/show/work.

Therefore,

feeling less ggrrhhh and more peaceful.

 This is a back-up blog and also an outpost for visiting

 friends I miss from the WLS migration(s).

Child Away From Home

Prayer by S. Calliou

Creator, Grandmothers and Grandfathers


I humbly I pray to you as an earthbound parent,


whose child has chosen to leave home.


I feel a helpless parent.


I pray for protection of heart, mind, body and soul


of this one [name] who has freely chosen to roam


without specific goal, vocation or destination


throughout your vast Creation.






From babyhood this one took such proud steps


and, perhaps, I knew this day would come


but also prayed such would not be my child.


Help, for the honour of all Creation, I am brave


and ever hopeful throughout this child's absence.




Assist our family grieving the missing

and what is a lonely separation.






Creator, Grandmother and Grandfathers


with your wisdom of having walked more days than I


assist me to lessen doubt, unease and worry


which plagues my exhausted heart.


Assist my heart-mind to think and feel


more optimistic thoughts


that my child is brave enough, happy enough,


smart enough, strong enough


to make a life of one’s own,


guided by a loving and merciful Divine Will.






I pray for this child who has left us


and neglected communication with family.


I hope this child continues to be


in communication with Thee.






Wherever my child is this day


I ask humbly for the embrace of your compassion,


wisdom and guidance


that this solo journey


not become a ruin


of brokenhearted detours and


dull dead ends.






Wherever my child sleep tonight


I humbly beg there is a shelter of compassion,


protection and guidance


that this lone traveler


find a peaceful and safe night’s rest


and not the anxious sleep of wariness.






Creator, Grandmother and Grandfathers


I am earthbound parent suffering.


I scrape together this prayer


that  our parallel journeys


will intersect once again,


a (re-)union of faithfulness


to each other and to Thee, My Creator.
